Gordon Siegfriedt

Nickname: El gordo

To help you fully understand Gordon Siegfriedt, I have devised an acronym (using the letters in his name G-O-R-D-O-N to describe him). I hope you weak minded fools can comprehend such a sophisticated layout.

G stands for Gordon

Gordon is Gordon. Yes… it may sound simple, but this is no joke. Born and raised in Evanston Illinois, just outside of Chicago, his parents (“Mom” and “Dad” as he called them) knew he was going to turn into something big right from the beginning. He was always attracted to sports as a youngster, and followed all of Chicago’s Pro sports teams, except the white sox, of course. His sporting career consisted of mainly soccer and baseball, until he met his destiny… ultimate. He started playing ultimate in high school, but when he came to U of M is when he truly developed the love for the game. He first played with Tenacious B, but after a year of honing his skills he was ready for magnUM Proper, and ultimate greatness.

O stands for Ordinary… NOT!

Gordon is ordinary… NOT! Gordon is extraordinary. Not just the sporting field (as shown by his playing on magnUM) but also in school. He is an IOE (in and out easy) engineer, and earns Straight B+’s. A short story to demonstrate: one time, Gordon and I were “chillin” on a Thursday night. Gordon was getting quite “chilled” and I asked him if he had class in the morning. He told me that he had an exam at 10:30 AM, but it was nothing to worry about. Naturally, I made a bet with him that “there was no chance he would do well on the exam.” He accepted the bet, and I proceeded to get Gordon extremely “chilled” over the long night. In the end, Gordon ended up getting 100% on his exam, and I ended up losing the bet and buying him a 2 liter of his favorite drink: Faygo Diet Raspberry Crème.

R stands for Reliable

Gordon is a very reliable player on the field. All of his hard work and practicing over the past years has really paid off. He is one of the best handlers on the team, and can be counted on for great breaks, and strong on-field decisions. To put it bluntly: when it’s double game point, I want to see Gordon on the field.

D stands for Dedication

Gordon is one of the most dedicated magnumites I have ever met. He is constantly thinking of magnUM and how to make the team better. All summer long he worked for numerous hours to make magnUM the best team possible. Working with sponsors, creating new magnUM gear, or stalking recruits… Gordon was a mad man with ideas. His dedication to the team during the off season gave magnUM the jump start it needed.

O stands for Outgoing

Whatever it takes, Gordon will get it done. Whether it’s a strenuous plyos workout, practice 5 nights a week, a 16 hour drive to Okalahoma, or playing in the snow, Gordon will do what it takes to help the team. When he’s not playing ultimate, he’s probably thinking or talking about magnUM.

N stands for No more

No More!!!!
